Look what I found in the sand today.

Is it really winter??   Cuz it was 85 degrees on the sand today.

 

It was gorgeous!

The sand was hot, the breeze was warm and the water was clear.

It was the kind of day... I call perfect.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better...  I found another surprise. 

Shells!  Everywhere!  Shells, Shells and more Shells. 

I know it sounds funny for me to be so excited about shells on the beach but,

this is the first time I have seen so many on my beach!

I played in the shells and sand all day!

The waves would bring them to the shore...

and take them away just as fast

gone.... just like that!

and then...back again!

I hope these wonderful treasures are still here tomorrow.

How does Ashley do this?

So when you are the Momma of Ashley (Little Miss Momma) people assume you know how to do everything she can do.  NOT!!!!!  Not even close!

Like those amazing self portraits she takes...  I've been at her house and seen her process.  She throws on a shirt, fluffs her hair, dabs on a tiny bit of makeup and adds a belt or some jewelry...   Point ...Click...Shoot,  and She's done.  

Is she the cutest?  Serious I did good!  That's my baby!

How easy is that?  NOT!!!!!

I tried this....  Not that simple... 300 shots later....

I called her to complain,  Like I always do when it comes to learning how to blog....

She said "Mom it just takes practice!.... You can do it!" 

She is such a good kid!  So I tried again...

And again.......  Still blurry.  Need.   to.   focus.   and.   to.    stop.     shaking.

and again...  almost had it then.... crap the tongue thing, i do while concentrating.

maybe I should back up.... NOT!   Too far away and blurry!

Hummm... not bad.  I'm getting the hang of it. ....

Ten Beach BADS

I'm always telling everyone that I love the Beach.  As with most things in life it's not perfect... but, I could only come up with ten BEACH BADS.  Here is my list...

  Frizzy hair...Everyday, no matter what! I look like I put my finger in a light socket.

I spend an hour with a straightener.

2.  Never any parking...and I get at least one parking ticket a month. 

3.  No cell phone reception..

4.  Grouchy angry bikers on the bike path yelling right! right! or left! left!

Shouldn't they be on a race track and not a beach bike path?

5.  No dogs allowed!  My little Yorkie would love to run on the sand and play in the water.  Whats up with that?

6.  Rust  on my BBQ

7. RUST on my bike.  My bike lives inside and still gets rust!

This is her now.... but if I don't put her inside everyday

This could happen. Yikes!

8.  Smokers:  Some guy stops in front of my house every night to watch the sunset...Smoking a Cigar.  UGGG!  This isn't him, in fact he's kinda HOT!  but... this is what he looks like with that cigar in his mouth.

9.  Trash...people really do leave their trash on the beach.  Really!  

10.  Doggy Poop on the sidewalk.  Serious?  Pick it up people. 

We even give you free bags on every corner.  Not fun stepping in this mess.

Otherwise I LOVE THE BEACH!

Super Bowl and a 10k POOR sport!

 I'm a New York Jets Fan! Even bigger then Fireman ED! We were this close! (holding my finger and thumb together to show a very small amount of space)

 I am all in favor of Coach Ryan's trash talk and even his foot fetish! 

 But here is the reason I just couldn't get enough of the Jets this season.

I really am a member of his fan club.

I had my Super Bowl ... when we beat the the  cheaters and sent Brady home!

Tom is kinda Hot too, (ya think) but maybe now he'll have time to  get a hair cut... and he can watch the super bowl like the rest of the world on a big screen.

So I will not be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday... Instead I'm gonna hang out at the beach with all the Redondo Beach 10k runners!

I've been a beach loving, sun worshiper my whole life. 

I've got a beach bag packed at all times. I can be ready to go in about 6 minutes.  When Ashley was just a baby we would go to Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey all the time. 

Hanging out on the beach last weekend it occurred to me that not everyone enjoys the beach the same way I do.  

  So pretend it's just you (no kids, no hubby)and you get to go to the beach all by yourself today...

 ?

My perfect day at the beach is 85 degrees, hot sand (the kind that burns your feet) sitting in a low beach chair,

 without my ipod or an umbrella, with a magazine so I can hide my

people watching stalking skills, with sunglasses 

and a hat

  eating Doritos in a two piece

 (no picture's of that lovely sight)

 covered in oil (Bain de Soleil) for full body tan, But that's only if I've shaved.

 I bring my boogie board but I have yet to put it in the water.  It just look good. 

People watching is the best pass time however, I have been known to dig a

pretty big hole and i can build a pretty mean sand castle. (not as good as this one)



What would be your perfect day at the beach?

HT Grill in the Village

We love the patio at HT Grill. 

It's so Beachy to us. Makes me feel like I'm a local.

You can't see the water but you can smell it and

 they do have a fantastic FirePit on the patio. 

Sometimes it's hard to come by a fireside seat (lots of locals hang out) but,

 if you get there early enough you can sit around the

firepit and enjoy a pertty good glass of wine. 

On Wednesdays they have 1/2 off their bottle wine list.  

We usually go on Friday Night after Farmers Market.

but with this great deal I think I'm in for wine tonight!
